See you in the Old Town!

Svenska

The Medieval Museum beneath Norrbro is currently closed due to relocation. But even though we don't have our own exhibition space at the moment, the Medieval Museum is full of life!

The new Medieval Museum will be located in the Börshuset at Stortorget in the Old Town. We don’t yet know when the grand opening will be, but in the meantime, we have a lot to offer!

Tours and walks

Join us in the alleys of the Old Town, hear stories of the past, and discover our two historical rooms. We offer tours and walks for both children and adults, booked groups and curious visitors. We also collaborate with Museum Tre Kronor, Storkyrkan, and the Nobel Prize Museum.

Medieval Hub — Pop-up shop and mini exhibition

In summer 2025, you can visit the Medieval Hub, a visitor centre located in the courtyard of Storkyrkan. Here, you can buy gifts, event tickets, and see our small exhibition about medieval Stockholm. This is also the starting point for our tours, walks, and school programs.

Engaging learning experiences

We offer school programs that spark curiosity and leave lasting memories. Students explore medieval daily life, religion, justice, and much more. We also participate in the project The Church in the Middle Ages, where students and historic churches work together to explore medieval heritage. In summer 2025, a student-created exhibition from Sjöängsskolan will be on display in Brännkyrka Church.

Medieval Fashion

Our exhibition Medieval Fashion is currently on display at the Swedish History Museum. In autumn 2025, it will be refreshed with additional garments and shown until autumn 2026. After that, the exhibition will go on tour to other museums in Sweden.

Research for the future

What do we really know about medieval Stockholm? New knowledge is being developed through various projects, our own research, and collaboration with other institutions.
