The Blackfriars’ Monastery hostel

Step into the beautiful brick vaults of the Dominicans from the 14th century and hear stories from the Middle Ages.

Behind a small black iron door in the Old Town are the only visible remnants of the Blackfriars’ Monastery, founded by the Dominican Order in 1336.

Feel the wings of history under the beautiful brick vaults and hear about the Blackfriars, the famous altarpiece “Holy Ransom,” and Brother Gregorius’ collection of stories about how miracles cured pilgrims.
