This lecture offers an introduction to medieval Stockholm for those new to the topic as well as a fresh perspective for the well-versed.

Medieval Stockholm was a city closely tied to the rest of Europe - a continent under constant change due to dramatic conflicts, the movement of people, and the exchange of goods, ideas and disease.

What happens when we view Stockholm's medieval history from the outside in? Which events, places and people from across the seas prove fundamental to the city's story? And what comparisons can we make that shed light on Stockholm's past?

The lecture is in English and is delivered by Joshua Mellor, educator at the Medieval Museum.
